ana-gets-healthy:

Following these directions for counting and cutting calories will make losing weight healthier and easier.

COUNTING

Counting calories is pretty much essential to weight loss. The problem most people have is that they don’t count the right calories. Stop counting the calories from non starch vegetables such as spinach mushrooms asparagus and tomatoes. These types of veggies will not make you gain a pound. All of the calories from veggies that is not used up as energy becomes waste. it will never become fat. The only vegetable calories that you have to count include starches like potatoes corn and beans.

fruit is a little different. it has a higher sugar content and more carbohydrates, so counting these calories is necessary. The important thing to remember is that if all you’re eating consists of fruits and vegetables, you really don’t need to count calories.

You should be counting all other calories as well.

CUTTING CALORIES

here are a few ways to cut calories.

1. don’t drink anything that has calories. It is surprising how many extra calories people take in just from drinking sweetened tea, starbucks, sodas, energy drinks and flavored water.

2. Don’t eat anything with a barcode. You should be trying to make your lifestyle healthier and less processed. If you didn’t prepare it yourself, don’t eat it. If you can scan it on my fitness pal, don’t eat it. It is a pretty simple philosophy but it will seriously cut calories. Processed food has a lot more calories than fresh fruits vegetables and lean protein.

3. DON’T SNACK. You should stick to having a few meals per day. small snacks between meals can amount to 500 or more extra calories added to your daily intake on top of meals. If you are hungry between meals, try drinking unsweetened iced tea or water instead.
